Our Objectives
The InclusiVET project has as main objective to contribute to a more inclusive environment at Vocational Education & Training (VET) Institutions, by creating interventions aimed at increasing underrepresented students’ engagement in the life of their academic institution. The project aims to:
- Increase understanding of existing practices of inclusive student engagement at VET institutions
- Identify good practices and innovative ways of a more inclusive student engagement of VET students
- Promote increased participation of non-traditional and underrepresented groups within VET institutional formal and informal systems of students’ engagement
- Develop strategies and tools VET institutions can apply to support the development of an inclusive student engagement culture
Our Strategy
To accomplish our Objectives, we will
Develop staff competence profiles for research & innovation, by:
Promote increased participation of non-traditional and underrepresented groups within VET institutional formal and informal systems of students’ engagement
Develop a tool for self-assessment for VET institutional leaders
to evaluate their own student engagement system in combination with guidelines on how to develop institutional strategies for creating more inclusive VET
Create and pilot a methodology for a student-led institutional review
focusing on policies and practices of inclusive student engagement which will provide VET Institutions with a unique way to empower their students to assess the performance of their own institutional system of student engagement and detect its strengths and weaknesses in terms of how accessible and inclusive it is.
Develop an online training course and capacity building resources
which is specifically aimed at staff in VET institutions, student organisations and other organisations who have a role in supporting students and are instrumental in encouraging and facilitating inclusive student engagement, thus providing VET institutions with a valuable tool for professional development of these staff roles.
